Hi there.
I just live up Poplar Road and I'm Moving to this School. I also researched that It was founded In 1933. It survived World War 2. The evacuees might have liked this school. See U soon. Bye.

[Echelford School has only been in Park Road since 1973. During the war years the school was sited in the town centre, in the building where Clarendon School is today]

This is a message to Mr Walker, Music Teacher.

Lydia and two other pupils went to the Percussion Parade at Westfield School, Woking last Sunday, 21st June. It was fab! They had such fun, playing along with the Ensemble. The performance by the SCPE (under the direction of Jackie Kendle) was outstanding and really inspired Lydia, who has decided she would like to study to play percussion instruments. There were pieces from various genres (to meet all tastes). I wish more Echelford pupils had attended. I would recommend these performances to both children and adults.

Thank you for suggesting we go along.

Hey it's me (again)!
My last message was right at the end of March but now this message is the week before SATS! I hope everyone had a nice, long weekend like I did. Welll - apart from falling off a swing and getting covered in wood chips (plus banging my head and hip)...
No one should worry about the SATS because there are no SATS next year and it doesn't matter what mark you get! I think we're actually lucky to do our SATS because we learn + concentrate more.

Hi, people of Echelford. Please dont say that there is a school better then Echelford, because it is the best the best school in the whole of Surrey. To Mr Wilson - you are the best head teacher in the whole wide world, so please dont leave Echelford any time soon. The thing with you, Mr Wilson, is that you are very nice, and that no one (well, if they dont get in trouble) should be scared of you. So bye P.S. Bye.

I can't believe that Yr 6 are leaving soon - not fair! We have our SATs in May (Silly Assesment Tests as the Revision Books say : / ) and right now, I've got 5s in everything and I want to get - AT LEAST a 5B.
My mum said that we can make some bread over Easter so I might bring some in for everyone to try after Easter. Gosh, 2 weeks off! Talk about being bored.

All the parents who brought their children here in reception have made a good, good choice because, although some of your children may come home to you and u ask them how was school and they say "Oh well, I got a detention by Mrs. Meredith or Miss Miller." But that is because they have done something wrong, so dont go 'avin a go at the teachers lol x

Hello Echelford, People who are looking at this site reading these comments right now, can I give you some advice? Please bring your children to Echelford Primary School because it is the best school you could ever go to. I think we have over 600 + pupils at our school and it's the best school I've ever been to. I'm in year 6 but I don't want to leave to year 7 because I'm going to miss all the bright colours, the big school, all my friends, all my teachers especially one special one! Mr. Wilson, our head teacher, he's the best head master I could thinnk of. He's funny at times. He is just the perfect head master and im proud of it! Thank you Mr Wilson for being the best head teacher for 35 years I think or 25. I'm not sure but keep it up because I'll be coming back when I'm in my work experience and I want to see you. : ) from Nicole

Hey Teachers at Echelford School
Mr Todd and Mrs Stevens, how are you?
I just wanna say Mr . Grimwood i miss ya loadz. I wish you could come to Bishop Wand but you cant - thats just life for ya. I stiill have my RE stuff lol. How's Echelford. Any better? How's Mr. Wilson and the other teachers? I really want to see Mrs Stevens and Mr. Todd. We always had a laugh together. I love Bishop Wand. It is Great. So far 3 people have fainted. One person dislocated his knee. Yuck!!!!!!! There have been lots of fights . I like French, RS and all the other lessons. My best teacher is probabley my art teacher. She always gives me merits ( like house points). I have 2 certificates, one for gaining more than 20 merits and one for excellent work in art. I like the chapel and the swimming pool. On the 5th of November I am going to Greenwich to the David Beckham Academy. I can't wait.

Hi
I used to go to Echelford 6 years ago.

I am now training to be an officer in the Royal Navy, at Welbeck, The Defence Sixth Form College

This shows how brilliant Echelford was for me, giving me the confidence to do all this and teaching me well to achieve good SATs and eventually GCSE results. All you guys at Echelford are lucky

Dont waste it!

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed "Mary Poppins". What a great production that was! Many thanks to everyone involved both on stage and behind the scenes. One of the things I like most about Echelford School is the staff's clear intention to develop our kids in a variety of ways....not just to improve their academic performance. Thanks also all you parents and PTFA members who work so hard to assist the school in meeting its objectives. I'm too lazy or too busy to do so myself!

I just found the site and it brings back a lot of fantastic memories I have of Echelford. My time at Echelford ranks as of one of my most enjoyable experiences. The school productions were "FAB" (excuse the pun) and every schooltrip was truly memorable. I am currently living in Dublin studying Law at Trinity College Dublin. Please send my regards to the teachers of 96-99. Especially Mr Wilson, Mrs Sawyer, Mrs Cribb and Mr Bruce.

Hi ! I think that Echelford school is the best school out of Ashford. The lessons are quite fun and the productions are cool. The productions I remember seeing Hoodwinked and Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. I was in Peter Pan. I was a indian ! lol ! It was quite fun.
I am going to miss EVERYONE (LISTEN TEACHERS) and I mean everyone for when we leave. If your looking for a primary school in Ashford, pick Echelford.
The school trips are excelant. I have just went to stone farm but it was a bit smelly and a bit mucky. Apart from that it was really fun. So really listen to what I have said.
Yours Trully,
Katie Webster Age 10 class 5C.

To everyone at Echelford!
Thank you to everyone who I worked with the week before I started my teaching degree. Well Im now on my second term in and well to be honest it is scary at times! I have already done a two week placement in a small school, complete contrast to working with you guys! Have thought about packing it in a couple of times but then I remember the kind words of encouragement that you gave me whilst I was there and so I battle on through it all! Thank you so so much and I hope to see you all soon!

Hello!

My God, a friend of mine sent me the link to the web site. It's good to see my old school. It brings back many thoughts. I think its been 16 years? maybe since I left. I am in the Roytay Air Force now as a flight ops assistant. All is well and I love my job. I got back from Iraq last April after working there for 4 months. It was interesting. Need I say more? Anyway, keep up the good work.

I was just browsing on my computer when I came across this wonderful website. Brought back such happy memories. I was a pupil at echelford in (ooooh) early 80's and loved every minute of it! Was a wonderful school to be apart of have such fun memories of fundraising, school trips(st marys Bay in kent where me and my family now live just down the road from) , discos and who can forget the wonderful school plays. I was in the production of Oliver and a brilliant play we put on about children being evacuated to the country during the war. Happy days, and nice to see that things remain the same. A big hello and thank you to Mr Wilson and all the teachers then that made me look forward to school everyday!!

Hello everyone, I'm just sat at the computer during my free period at college with a group of friends. We all used to go to Echelford and agree that it was (and sure it still is) a great school. We're all off the University next year! Im doing a BA in Primary Education and believe that the main reason that I want to be a Primary Teacher is because of the great role models I had at Echelford. We all thankyou for the strong foundation you gave us all and hope the school every success in the future.

Mr Wilson, you have done it again. You, your staff and all the children that were in the recent Hoodwinked have once again put on a marvellous spectacle, a colourful, talented and exciting play. Whils I am slightly biased as my niece Zoe was playing Maid Marion, I thought the efforts of all the lead characters were superb. You really have some future stars in the school.
Best of luck for the rest of term.

This website is a little pocket of nostalgia - I'd forgotten about the house teams. I was in Centaur and very proud to be too! I'm very glad the school is still flourishing. Nearly ten years have passed since I left Echelford and I really do have some very fond memories. I find myself singing the songs from assembly and I love driving past Guildford Cathedral, it awakens the dusty passages of my memory and I'm a young girl in knee high socks attempting to sing in tune to the thwack of Miss Irwin's baton on the music stand! My passion for furry creatures began with Mrs Cribb and the rabbit shed. I'm sure my mum doesn't thank you for that, we ended up with 52 bunnies at one point! All too often, the education system is the recipient of criticism so I'd like to say thank you to all those teachers whose advice I still use today, Miss Irwin who was just wonderful, Shirley Tibbits whose voluptuous handwriting I still aspire too, Dave Bruce, Mrs. Hershcell (aerobics - the song Angelo) Miss White, Mr. Wilson who taught me to swim and to all the others whose names I have forgotten. Thank you!

Having finally got round to checking out this very good school web-site, and better late than never, I should like to say how very much I enjoyed the production of "Oliver". It took me back to the very first production I was involved in when I first began teaching at Echelford. I am so pleased that the school is able to continue to put on these productions. They were certainly one of the highlights of my years at the school. We, that is the staff and the children, had such fun doing them although it was extremely hard work ! You are fortunate in having the staff to be able to carry on the tradition which we started. Hello to all those pupils who remember being involved when I, Dave Bruce, Frances Irwin, Sue Sawyer, Ellen Marshall "et al" were there.

I'm still waiting to see my son Tim's photo from Bonnie Scotland (Mr Bruce, try and get him to stay still enough to be able to download his face to us in Ashford, at least I'll know where he is for once!!!). Well done for the informative and amusing photos/captions. We have really enjoyed them. They are a credit to you.

i would like to say hello to all the teachers who had to put up with me over the 6 years i was there.
i was looking at the website and i am very impressed with it it's much better than our schools one.
i hope all the people who are in or went to scotland are having as much fun there as i did but i must say the walking was a bit of a struggle.
well i hope all the teachers are still as nice as i remember and i only wish you were in my school.
well thats all i have to say so buy for now emma
p.s maybe i'll come to visit one day when i'm off and having a break from my course work
